Peace on Earth, Good Will Towards All

Happy Christmas Morning! I hope you are waking up feeling pretty healthy, fairly peaceful, and ready to enjoy the day. I received a lot of comments on last week’s blogpost, and they gave me more insight and a lot more food for thought about Moms and the meaning of Christmas.

The Christmas season is a magical one, and thank goodness for that! At this time, it’s so great to see people opening their wallets to give more to charitable organizations who serve the less fortunate among us- those who are lonely at Christmas, unhoused, and potentially hungry. There is a strong drive within many, if not most, people to try to alleviate that kind of suffering at Christmas time. It’s a large part of what makes Christmas magical, that’s for sure!

The tension level at my local grocery store had disappeared by yesterday morning, replaced by people cheerfully wishing each other a Merry Christmas, especially when they ran into people who were home for the holidays, people they may not have seen for many months or years.

It’s so wonderful to see and experience the good that dwells within each human heart in action. The inner drive for peace, unity, kindness, and generosity is definitely there! Moms embody the desire for harmony and love among family members, and they try their best to create the right conditions for each of their children to put down any bitterness, resentment, hatred, jealousy, or envy they may be feeling, and come together, to make their Mom happy, and eat a meal together at the family table.

Although tensions may be running high in our world at large, I have been so happy to see that there exists within most people an equally strong inclination to do good, and to be a person of good cheer, kindness, graciousness, respect, and generosity. That gives me reason for hope for 2026!

Enjoy your day today

Love,

Sue
